Teeth

Sophia ran in from school today and screamed "mom I lost my tooth at school!" She told me she was in computer class playing starfall like she always does an she felt a pop. She felt and her tooth fell out. She said it was bleeding so she got toilet paper but not the wet kind!! What a kid.

Today I am staying home with my sweet little boy. He makes me smile! It's a cold wet rainy day and we are going to do some snuggling!!

Sleepover

Tonight was Sophia's first birthday sleepover. It went well. A bit crazy but fun. Daphnee and Brooklyn were here all evening and the girls did great!! Loved it!!

Tiny dancer

As I sit here with dex getting him to sleep there is music playing on tv. He starts to shake his hips as if he is trying to dance!!! This kids got moves. Even in his sleep!!

Growing up

My babies are growing up. Dexter got a big boy haircut today. And Sophia had her last family picnic Friday at school. She has her first break after next week. I am excited to have her home for awhile!
I told her today we were going out dinner and I told Sophia that pops was choosing. She said "Mom I don't want to go to that colorful place." I said I didn't know where she was talking about. She said "mom you know the place with the tortilla chips!" I guess we eat Mexican food to much!!

I love my kids. They are amazing. They make me smile so much!

Feeling good

The last couple of weeks has been wonderful. Sophia has grown up so much in the 6 weeks she's been in school. We are so proud of her. She is smart funny and so very talented. We couldn't ask for a more amazing little girl. She makes us so happy and her kisses full our hearts!

Dexter got two more teeth! He's growing so quickly. He's so tall!! Went to the dr and he is 32 inches tall and weigh 27lbs! The teeth are making him a bit cranky but he's handling it like a champ! Such a sweet boy. Also he's totally a mamas boy. I always used to be jealous of the relationship Travis had with Sophia. Now I get it. And my god it's a beautiful thing. I love my children so much. They make me smile everyday. My family is my world. The best world I could ever ask for!

Oops

Things have been so busy lately that I haven't blogged. Sophia is in love with kindergarten and having a blast. She's already starting to read a bit!
Dexter is a wild man. He is growing so quickly! He is a joy to be with! He had his first major boo boo the other day falling and skinning his nose at grandma and paw paws house! But he's still cute as can be!!

Tonight Travis and Sophia are spending the night in the tent out back!! We will see if they are there in the morning or cozied up In the house!!

Going well

Tonight was PTA night at school. Sophia loves school. She is doing well. Mama is a little lost without her baby girl around. I often find myself wondering if she's upstairs watching Disney Junior. As excited as I am for her I be there and to be growing up, I still want my little baby girl. She told me the other day she wants me to teach again so I can be super happy. What a smart little lady. I go for a job interview tomorrow. She told me she's been saying prayers for me.

Dex is growing quick as well. I love to see the progression of little ones. He changes so much from day to day. I love having him run up to me and want my hugs. He gives kisses and blows kisses to everyone. I love that when we re out and about he waves to everyone! He's so stinking cute.

OH YEAH!! Earlier this week Sophia bestowed upon me the honor of coolest mom in the world!! Can't get much better than that! But the truth is, my family makes me cool

Day one

Today was Sophia's first day of school. She did a great job and she had a ton of fun!!

Royal ball

I took Sophia to the casa royal ball last night and she told me it was the best night of her life!! It was awesome and I think my princess was the prettiest of all.

Ducks

My teacher

Sophia just told me that when she signs up for school tomorrow and finds out who her teacher is that her teacher will be nice, pretty and tell really funny jokes!!

Oops

There has been a lull in my blogging. We have been very busy. Tonight is our sluggers last t ball game. I am praying it does not get rained out. We have been running around like crazy lately. We had a great Fourth of July. We spent it with great friends. And now we are amping up this week for kindergarten registration and then off to Pittsburgh on Thursday. Can't wait to see aunt china!

Weekend ramblings

Sophia woke up to me and dexter being gone. (We went to church and I let her and pops sleep in). She ran in and woke up pops. Telling him we were gone and said where did they go? Then she asked me later why I let her sleep through church.
Travis took her to the Youhas'. Ad she rode up front the whole way there. He was very proud o herself and will make a great backseat driver one day.
I took her to pick cherries at my high school English teachers house. She loved it an loved that I let her climb the ladders. I came home and baked a pie from scratch. It turned out a bit tart but for a first try not too bad.
Dexter and I mowed the yard and hung out!! It was a great weekend over all.

Cool kids

I have amazing children who make me laugh a lot. This morning they laid on the couch laughing at each other. We went to the library and had fun getting a ton of books. Sophia has been dancing and making a lot of fun remarks. Her favorite is saying fat chance. Dexter has learned that he can make me laugh and he works it!! It's hilarious! They are so good. I am so lucky to have found a man who gave me wonderful children. He is amazing too!!

Growing fast

Today was the terminix picnic. Sophia had so much fun and dex too. There was rain and the blow up slides had to be shut down but all the kids enjoyed playing in the rain!! I am just amazed that last year Dex was only one month old when we went.
Sophia and I went to Hannah's birthday party afterwards and she is 12 now. It's so hard to believe that it been 12 years since we race to St. Louis to be with Loren and amber for her to receive her lungs. Amazing things happen everyday but hat is one I will remember forever.
I end my day wrestling on the floor with both kids while Travis took pictures and get silly with us. These are the things I live for and love about my life!!

I don't wanna get tasered

Sophia came downstairs after being asleep for awhile and Travis took we back to bed. He tucked her in and she proceeded to tell him that she didn't want to get tasered. He asked her who was gonna taser her and she said she didn't know but not to let them taser her!! Oh I love when my kids talk in their sleep!!

Oops

I haven't blogged in a bit. Things are hectic. The summer has begun. Today Sophia had her friend Brooklyn over to play and it was fun. Then Travis took the kids to eat for Hannah's 12th birthday. It's hard to believe she is 12!!
The summer is going to be crazy but fun! The weekend is already packed! Father's Day is on Sunday and my kids have the best dad ever!!

Make me laugh

Today Dexter learned that he can make us laugh by making a silly face. It was at dinner with my mom and dad and he made this super silly face over and over and realized we were laughing at him. It continued for about ten minutes!! I love the little thing about toddlers that make me smile!!
Today we went to some rummage sales and Sophia's favorite find.... Books. This is one proud mama!

Drumming

The first thing he did today was play drums. He has already learned that the sticks are for the drums. He walk to the middle of the living room, picks them up and walks over to the drums. He is so cute!!

Seat belts

Yesterday while riding in the car Sophia grabbed the center seatbelt and put it around her. So I explained how she shouldn't do it because if we wrecked she might get hurt. She then, oh so cleverly said to me "but mama I've got two seatbelts on so I'm super safe!" Smart kiddo.
It was also fun run day yesterday. Dexter had his first run. He started and went straight for a wagon. He had no interest in running with the other kids!! It was funny. And our lovely ball of energy Sophia ran the half mile with no stopping.
It was a nice day.

T-Ball

Tonight was Sophia's first baseball game. I have to say it was one of the coolest and cutest things ever. She was so excited and she had a lot of fun. I am so glad that Travis is helping with the team too. It was a fun evening!

Memorial Day

Spent the day at Kickapoo with some friends. Then came home and hung out with the family. Sophia wanted potato chips so Travis opened up a new bag. He poured them in a bowl for her and she said "oh dad did you fart?" He said " nope that's just the way the chips smell". She smelled the chips and replied "huh I guess the chips farted!!"

Also we got our sneak peaks from Dawn Johnson Photography today o Dexs photo shoot. They are going to be amazing! The peeks are adorable!

Strawberries

I took Sophia and Leighton to the strawberry patch today. They had a blast. And the strawberries are amazing. I have been promising Sophia I would take her and she loved it.
Dexter had his one year check up and he did awesome. He is in the 100th percentile for height and 82nd for weight. He took his shots like a champ.
I love spending my days with my kids. They make everything better!!

Dexter turns one

I can't believe that a year ago today we were at the hospital staring at our brand new little boy. I remember being excited for big sis to come meet him. He has brought so much joy into all of our lives. He is so sweet, loving, happy and laid back. We are so lucky to have both of our amazing children. And today we are going to party it up for the cutest little nugget I know! We love you Dexter Clark!!

Yesterday I took the kids for haircuts. It was dexters first and honestly Sophia's first real haircut. When Heather got done I choked up a bit. They both looked so big. I can't believe that in just a few short days Dexter will be one. And in a few short months Sophia will start kindergarten. Today was our final function with schlarman academy with Sophia. We went to the preschool picnic. She had so much fun playing with zack, Charlie, Amelia, Katherine, Anna, Isabella and Lucas. We are going through some big changes. Can't wait for this next adventure!!

My loves

I had a great day yesterday. Spent time with my family. They got me lilacs for my flower beds. I got a great nap with Dexter. Made a fairy garden with Sophia. And it was great. I love being a wife and a mommy to the most amazing people!!

Mother's Day

I'm pretty lucky to have married my best friend. With her I have two perfect(-ish) children and they love her more than I thought possible. Thank you Melissa for being exactly who you are.

Sophia lost her second tooth last night. She pulled it out herself!! She was so excited she dropped it on the floor!!

Sophia: Shoes because when babies turn one their feet get fat and their shoes don't fit anymore
Me: oh I did not know that.

Rescue!!

Dexter discovered his car. Sophia decided to push him and he got stuck under it. Sophia just kept sayin "Dexter hold on I'll rescue you!" She tried ti pull him out but he was too heavy. So she pushed it over so he cod get out! So stinking cute! I hope she loves him this much forever!!

Auditorium

I took Sophia to the library today to build a terrarium. She told everyone thy its an auditorium!

Fairy day

Today I took dexter to church. Then I went and picked up Dixie. Then I came home and my mom, myself and Sophia went to Danville Gardens and we made a Fairy Garden. It turned out super good!! We loved it.

Oh crap!

Well today was nice. Went to a friends wedding and then came home. Gave Dex a bath and he proceeded to poop in the tub.

Great days!

Had a goo day with the kids. We sat at home for a bit and hung out. Then we went to the library. Sophia got her very own library card. She's really excited. OH! I almost forgot. Sophia woke up this morning to her very first tooth fairy gift!! She was very excited about it!! I think it is pretty cool myself!
And we'll Dexter was Dexter today!! He's super drooly so I imagine he is cutting some back teeth. He was his regular happy self. And he loved when I let him run around the house without a shirt. Mom came by today to bring him a truck and for the first time he showed us how he can climb down stairs. He climbed all the way down from the top floor!! My crazy kids!!

First lost tooth

Sophia was leaving school today and she lost her very first tooth. She is so excited. She can't wait to see what the tooth fairy leaves her. The funny part is, when she was holding it while we were in the car she dropped it. I had to tear apart the car and find it! Luckily I did! I loved seeing her excitement. She couldn't wait to tell everyone she saw. She was even grinning super big when we went for a walk. Cars would drive by and she would smile super big!!
She also told me that today was the best day of her life.

What a great day

I spent the day with the kids and we played outside. I put up a hook so we could finally put up Sophia's strawberries. Dexter and Sophia played in the water together. Then Travis surprised Sophia and was home in time to take her to baseball practice!! We all went to DQ for dinner and ice cream. Then to cap off the night Sophia rode on Ole Smokey with me while I mowed the yard. Right now I am cuddling with my little man and then I'm off to bed. I love days like these!!

Music lover

I love watching or listening music with Dexter. As soon as he hears a beat, he dances. It's the cutest thing. I think he's going to be a drummer. He starts playing everything he touches!!

Mud fight!

Well it's been a fun day! Started off with sunshine and t ball pictures for Sophia. Then off to gymnastics! After coming home for a bit Sophia had her first t ball practice. That was super fun. And Travis helped coach a little bit. She has a fun team. Then dinner where both children entertained us. Dexter dances and Sophia told a lot of silly stories. Mostly made up goofiness.
So when we got home it had been raining for about an hour and I got Sophia and we went out and played in the rain which ended up being an all out mud fight. War paint and all. I highly recommend adults playing in the rain at least once a year!! We had a ball!! Then showered up an came in for a movie!!! Love my kids more and more everyday!!

Cuddles

Well Dexter was sick again today. He seemed to progressively get better. My favorite part about it, and this may seem weird is that I love that he was a cuddler today. He's not much of a snuggler so I really enjoyed him wanting me to just hold him. He's such a sweet boy. I am so madly in love with both of my kids.
Sophia continues to amaze me with her carefree adventurous spirit. She and Travis went outside and played catch for a bit tonight. She is a natural. She's going to be a sports girl.

This morning Travis was getting Sophia ready for school and she said he looked tired. He the. Told her about how we were up late last night because Dexter was sick. She told him that maybe he could take a nap when he got home. Travis said really? She said no dad. No.
My other love If the day was when Travis told her about Dex begin sick and she said "oh my poor sweet little Dexter." She's so in love with her brother.

A simple walk

Just got home from a walk. Sophia found some water going Dow. The side of the street draining slowly from a clogged rain pipe.  She quickly picked a small white flower and decided "to watch it go down the river she found". She's such a cool kid.  With such a great sense I curiosity. I hope she never loses that!!

Great days

Today started off yucky with me in bed late because I felt terrible. Then after getting up and going it turned out great. I took the kids in a walk to Lincoln Park. They had fun. Came back to help clean out the garage. Sophia was drawing with sidewalk chalk and Travis asked her what se was drawing. Her reply "something awesome!" I love these kids. They bring so much joy to our lives. On Friday they were puking all over us and its funny how you go straight into parent mode. Nothing else matters except making sure they are ok. Today we were all feeling great and spent an awesome day out in this beautiful weather!!

Sick

Tonight was our first double kid puke fest. Sophia started puking while out at the movies with me. I got her home and settled and the I heard Travis yell for me. Dexter puked all over the place. And so then Sophia started puking again. We are all settled now and hopefully the worst is over.

Mails here

Everyday Sophia takes her little stool out to the mailbox to pick up the mail. Well today she brought home something from school to help her out!!
Today at school was the day a police car came. They got to look through it. I asked what was in it and her only answer was a computer!!
She also told me today that her friend Kendall's mom got fires from bible school so they don't go there anymore!!

Awesome guitar

Today while riding with me in the car to return some movies, The Ghastly Ones came on my radio. Sophia said "Dad they don't sing in this song, but the guitar is awesome!" Yeah my kid rocks.

Fun day

Today was just a lazy day here at home. Sophia went out and played in puddles. The rain this week has been crazy. We have a flooded basement.
She also spent the afternoon blowing bubbles. The other exciting event was that paw paw sent us a picture of Sophia's new ride!  Dear god help us all!!
